Silvia Yáñez, a certified Court Interpreter and Translator with over 25 years of experience, created Interpretation and Translation Worldwide Yañez.

Fascinated by this profession that she would call later the “Engineering of Letters”, Silvia Yáñez studied translation and interpretation in order to become a conference interpreter.

Her career as an interpreter and translator started out at the Court Houses of Montreal in 1993 and a few years later, she worked at international conferences and has been assigned to Presidents, Ministers, Ambassadors and Government Representatives for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Soon after her arrival in Canada, membership was conferred upon her by OTTIAQ (Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec) and later by ATIO (Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario). She became also recognized by the Government of Canada’s Translation Bureau in Ottawa.

Over these past years, her expertise has broadened, as she has offered her services to scientific teams and international organisations.

She was a Board Member of the OTTIAQ from 2010 to 2012.
